San Antonio.......7th-10th Feb

Well here we are folks back across the pond and all set for another great road trip across USA in our home on wheels. This segment will take us from  Houston Texas to Phoenix Arizona.........we holed up for a week in Victoria at a very peaceful campsite in nice warm sunshine while we restocked the store cupboards and I recovered from an attack of the yucky cough/cold bug that is doing the rounds both sides of the Atlantic.
We are now in San Antonio a very pretty city and so far one of our favourites......
This is the small outdoor theatre on The River Walk area of the city.....
The River Walk in the city is known as mini Venice. The San Antonio River runs through the city and has been "converted" into a canal with shops, restaurants and boat tours.......a good sidewalk/path runs along both sides
After a good walk around the city, The Cathedral, The Alamo, the Mexican Market (the biggest outside of Mexico) we had a nice relaxed lunch sitting outside of one of the many restaurants  on the river walk....

An interesting building near the Alamo, it looked very narrow but is in fact triangular .....
The Alamo,
Of course the song for today is Davy, Davy Crockett king of the wild frontier.......
The San Antonio Cathedral, the second oldest cathedral in the USA after St Augustine, Florida
Camp Harris, Travelers World RV Park, San Antonio
To show we are still flying the flag..........
A terrapin enjoying the sun on the San Antonio River
There is a really good paved walk along the San Antonio River  which runs past our campsite . It's 5 miles in each direction one way going to downtown and the other going to the missions. We walked a mile or two both ways during our stay.......
We've really enjoyed our stay in San Antonio but tomorrow we move on along the I-10, overnighting at Fort Stockton before going south to Big Bend National Park
